Gangdong Arts Center
Since its inception on September 1, 2011, Gangdong Arts Center has solidified its position as a prominent venue in the southeastern region of Seoul. It offers a profound platform for various performances and exhibitions year-round. Alongside diverse performances and exhibitions, the center hosts outdoor festivals in spring and autumn, as well as educational and participatory programs catering to all age groups, enriching daily cultural and artistic experiences.
The Gangdong Arts Center endeavors to provide artists with an optimal stage to showcase their talents and audiences with premier performances and customer-centric services. It fosters an exchange between artists and audiences, creating culturally resonant experiences.
Theater Hangang
The Main Theater is designed as a premium venue, boasting 850 seats (650 on the ground floor and 200 on the second floor). Equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, it accommodates a diverse range of performances across genres such as classical music, dance, theater, and concerts.
With exceptional visibility and intimate seating arrangements, every seat in the house offers an outstanding view. The 84 battens positioned above the stage allow for versatile stage utilization and high-quality production.
Additionally, strategically placed facilities - such as loading dock, green rooms, makeup rooms, shower rooms, and wardrob areas - ensure an optimal environment for performers and production teams.
Theater Dream
It is a black box theater equipped with 250 seats (176 on the ground floor, 40 on the mezzanine, and 34 on the first floor). Its design facilitates a diverse array of performances and artistic experimentation across various genres. The seamless integration of the stage and audience seating creates an intimate environment, encouraging close interaction between spectators and performers.
Art Gallery Grim
Art gallery (216m2) is located at the first floor on the ground and a space to exhibit various genres of art works.
